Ansley & Jacob • Venue de LaChute
The weather for Ansley’s wedding day was your typical North Louisiana mid-November weather. You don’t know if it’ll be 20 degrees or 80 degrees. Well, in 2022, it was SUPER cold and cloudy on November 19th. That didn’t stop them from having an amazing wedding! They had an outdoor ceremony under the oak tree at Venue de LaChute with an indoor reception in their beautiful reception space. With florals by Leanne Graves to decorate the space, the reception was stunning!
How it started:
Where to begin? You’ll probably see Ansley’s face all over my page because I have photographed her more times than I can count. If I need to practice headshots? I’m calling Ansley. I want a model for a horse session? I’m calling Ansley. But see our story/friendship really started back when she was in high school. I photographed her senior portraits and it was during that session, she informed me that I would be photographing her wedding. If you saw her bridal blog post, then you know… I responded with “as long as I still have a camera, I’ll shoot your wedding!” Of course she said this back in 2017, when I was photographing 30+ weddings per year. I had no plans to retire at that point. However, in 2019, I decided to slow down taking only a few weddings per year because I was pregnant with my little girl & we had a bit of a rough pregnancy. When Ansley contacted me to schedule a shoot for her & Jacob, I immediately agreed. What she didn’t know was… Jacob & I were in contact and he was going to propose. I photographed their proposal/engagement photos & she immediately asked me to shoot her wedding! How could I say no? I had decided in 2021 I wouldn’t take weddings anymore, but I stayed true to my word… I still had my camera gear, so I was shooting her wedding. Her wedding catapulted me back into weddings. After her wedding, I said - WHAT am I doing? I immediately started advertising weddings again. Weddings by far are where my heart is. So thank you, Ansley for always being an amazing client & friend.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you.
